We just received an update about one of our rescue dogs that touched us and had to share. Via Liz Simmons, Charlie’s Mama:

“I adopted Charlie almost 4 years ago from your organization. He was the handsome man with one ear up and one ear down. I think he was older than we all realized, so he and I spent his senior years being best friends. He traveled with me across the country, moved in with other dogs, hiked all over, swam in a variety of places, played until he couldn’t run (then refereed the other dogs), lounged a lot, and never left my side.

I wanted to let you know that he passed away about a month ago. He was so incredibly loved and left a powerful presence with me, my family, and my friends. It was beautiful to see how many people reached out to explain how he touched their lives. Choosing to ask him to join me is the best decision I have ever made. I wanted to thank you and your organization for making that possible. I think about Save-An-Angel a lot, and just wanted to express my appreciation for what you guys do. Your mission is felt outside of New Orleans.”

Liz Simmons– Charlie’s Mom

Thank you so much for sharing Liz and for loving Charlie so deeply. And a special thanks to his foster mom who said yes to opening her home, when Charlie’s time was up. It’s because of foster homes that dogs like Charlie are able to live out their destinies.  Please consider opening your heart to a dog in need today. Fostering is free!
